The NaoTH team is once again competing in IranOpen! After a hectic day of travel, we are here in Tehran, excited to set up and test before the competition starts on April 8th. So far it looks like we will be competing against three other teams: MRL, a well-established Iranian team that won last year’s IranOpen competition; HTWK from Liepzig, World Cup vice-champions, with whom we shared the second place at the last IranOpen; and Z-Knipsers, from Zurich, the newcomers. Our Berlin United sister team from the Free University in Berlin, FUmanoids, is also here, and we’re excited to be working with them. Stay tuned this week for more photos and updates!

PS: Check out our new luggage, with logo stickers and all! We had quite an adventure getting these things on board the plane. Though they fit the dimension restrictions, they are quite heavy. It was actually a very pleasant direct flight despite having to shuffle our belongings in a frenzy at the check-in counter. Kudos to our team leader Heinrich for artfully negotiating until the robots were finally allowed to board with us.
